Would you like to support new Moms by doing some baby holding? And playing?
The Bellies and Babies program meets:
Mondays 11:00 – 1:00 Gibsons Recreation Centre on Park Ave. in the children’s playroom. The Gibsons location is particularly in need of assistance with holding babies while moms have an opportunity to converse and to enjoy lunch.
Tuesday 11:00 – 1:00 Sechelt, Sunshine Coast Community Services Society in the children’s playroom.

Would you like to do something practical to support the
Breakfast for Kids program?
Ted Chisholm, the Coordinator says:
We definitely can use volunteers in a number of capacities in the B4K program.
1) Promoting the program and letting people know how to donate to the program is very helpful - the money goes into a regional pot that funds all of the schools, ensuring that everyone has access to food. Cheques can be made out to School District 46 if a charitable tax receipt is desired, and sent to Breakfast for Kids Program c/o Sechelt Community Schools BOX 1545 Sechelt BC V0N 3A0. 100% of the funds donated goes to food on the table for kids.
2) I could use some help with word processing and data collection regarding the program.
3) On occasion, I get phone calls from the food bank on very short notice with an opportunity to pick up fruit, produce, or bread products, and having someone able to drive over on short notice to pick up and then deliver to different schools is helpful.
4) If hands on is preferred, then some of the schools could use help with getting the food prepped and put out in the mornings, and some schools could potentially use help with putting lunches together for kids who need them. We are looking at doing a pilot lunch program at one school, which would require some consistent and steady support.
